About the studio

ZEECERAMICS is a sculptural ceramics studio founded by architect and artist Zeljana Vidovic Mioli. Her work explores the tactile intersection of form, materiality, and emotional presence.

Zeljana is a ceramic artist with a background in architecture and multidisciplinary design. Her work explores the balance between structure and spontaneity, tradition and experimentation—where clay becomes a language of connection.

Originally from Istria, Croatia, she draws inspiration from the textures and rhythms of the Adriatic coastline. Since 2023, she has developed a minimalist, material-driven approach to hand-built ceramics.

Each piece is approached as a dialogue between form, material, and space — celebrating the tactile and timeless qualities of handmade craft, where form and emotion come together.

Artist statement

“In my work, I play with clay’s impermanence — where texture and form create a dialogue with the space they inhabit.

I distill shapes to their essence, stripping away excess to reveal clarity. Yet within this simplicity, I leave room for the unexpected: traces of touch, subtle irregularities, and the quiet transformation through fire.

The process is slow and intuitive. I build by hand, in coils, allowing volumes to emerge gradually — guided by weight and balance.

In the meditative act of making, I find stillness — a space to slow down, reflect, and let transformation take shape.

For me, each piece holds more than a form. It carries presence — and the intimate beauty of the handmade.”
